Lesson One - Blogging and Voki

We are going to start the course with creating a blog which will become our platform for sharing our progress, posting our tasks and exchanging opinions. So we will use www.blogger.com to create our academic blogs.



Task 1

Create your blog. In order to do it you should have a Google profile. Sign in with your Goofle profile (Create one if you don't have any) and choose blogger at the top of the Google page. Now create your blog. Have some fun with Templates  and Layout Tabs on the left panel and choose an enjoyable design for your blog. 

OR

You can use Google+ if you like it. Study what you can do at Google+ (+your name  at the upper right corner), then find your groupmates and add them into your circles.

As soon as you've finished, post a comment with your blog url in this post. While you are busy doing task 2, I'll attach your links to this blog, so you'll be able to read each other's blogs and comment on them.


Task 2

We are going to introduce ourselves to know each other better and we will do it with the help of speaking avatars from Voki. 

Now go to voki.com and register, then click on Create. Choose a face that will represent you (ones with caps are unavailable) and a background, decide if you will use a recording or a voiced text, make a text that tells about you and your hobbies and post the result in your blog (copy the code for embedding and if necessary choose HTML regime when creating a new post)

At Home

1. Finish the tasks you haven't finished in the class:
    a. create a blog at blogger.com
    b. post a link to your blog in comments to this post
    c. tell about yourself in a post. In this post embed a video, a picture and a speaking Voki avatar that will tell three surprising facts about you.
   
2. Subscribe your groupmates' blogs.


3. Leave at least three comments at different blogs of your groupmates.
